Just like clockwork, another year has rolled around, and according to the calendar, we’ve been married 13 years. It doesn’t seem nearly that long, but the math checks out, so I guess it’s true.
On our way to town this evening I told Cory this past year has been my favorite. He looked at me like I was crazy, because in a lot of ways it has been a hard year.
But it’s been a growing year. And those are just the best kind. In the past year we have walked the some tough stuff, but we walked through it together, and though I believe Satan meant it for evil, God meant it for our good, and we were able to grow even closer to each other, in spite of the hard stuff.
It’s been my favorite year because due to circumstantial changes we have been able to spend more time together than I think we have ever been able to, in our married life.
Because our children are at an age where they are just so much fun, and since Cory has really downsized his beef operation, we both have more time to do things as a family.
Because this is the year Cory looked at me and said “all we do is work! We need to have a hobby together!” and then promptly thought of a hobby for us. Now we are not growing middle-aged without a hobby. 😅
Because every day, he chooses Jesus, and our family. He takes his role as responsible leader, very seriously, and his heart is set on pleasing God and leading us well. I don’t deserve him, but I’m so grateful we have him. ❤️

This picture pretty much sums up life with Cory. The unexpected is always going to happen, and there’s going to be a lot of laughing. (If laughing really did burn calories, well, that would just be wonderful.. We quite frequently laugh and laugh, til we are red faced and wheezing, but… while we’re having fun, we’re sure not blowing away any time soon. 🤣
Happy anniversary! 13 years look good on y’all, turkey and all!😀
